The Green Energy Advice Bureau Wins Trusted Energy Partner of the Year at the 2026 Energy Awards
Updated: June 1, 2026
The Green Energy Advice Bureau (GEAB) has been crowned Trusted Energy Partner of the Year at the 2026 Energy Awards, recognising the company’s outstanding impact in supporting organisations through a rapidly changing energy landscape.
Based in Sunderland, GEAB has built a reputation for delivering expert energy consultancy that goes beyond contract procurement. Over the past year, the business has helped customers tackle rising non-commodity costs, manage regulatory changes, and significantly reduce energy waste.
In 2025 alone, GEAB supported its customer base in achieving reductions of what would have been well over 1 million kWh in wasted energy consumption, helping organisations improve efficiency while reducing overheads.
Sales Director Marc Whitelaw said:
“Winning this award is a huge achievement and a proud moment for our entire team. It reflects the evolution of GEAB and the way we continue to support customers in more ways than ever before, securing competitive contracts, while actively helping businesses reduce consumption, navigate complex regulatory changes, and manage increasing costs.”
The award also reflects GEAB’s ability to deliver significant results for individual organisations. From recovering £44,000 in unprocessed solar payments, to saving £33,561 through standing charge reductions, and supporting another business in reducing overall costs by approximately £823,166, GEAB continues to demonstrate measurable impact across its growing customer base.
Alongside its commercial success, GEAB has remained committed to supporting local communities and vulnerable organisations. The team launched a free gas safety checks scheme for charities, providing vital support during a period of rising operational costs. GEAB has also supported several local initiatives, including becoming a sponsor of St Oswald’s Hospice Tales on the Tyne sculpture trail over summer 2026 and donating thousands of toys for children in need through Norah’s North Pole.
Managing Director Chris Anderson said:
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our team and the values we stand for. We’ve always believed our role goes beyond energy. Supporting customers and communities is at the heart of what we do, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see that approach recognised at a national level.”
The award win marks a major milestone for GEAB as it continues to grow and expand its services, helping businesses across the UK reduce costs, improve efficiency and take control of their energy strategy.
